Anti-Racism Report & Workshop 2006

"Interventions / Intersections: Anti-Racism and Queer Organizing"

January 2006 - RHN's Anti-Racism Report was prepared in fall 2005 and released in 2006 by anti-racism consultant Nuzhat Abbas. See attached file for the report.

Abbas assessed RHN's organizational capacity to work against racism, to increase inclusivity, and to integrate anti-racism into the network's practice. An anti-racism committee was formed to carry out the consultant's hiring and to support the work that followed. The report was based on interviews and conversations with key informants, and on her review of key RHN documents. It includes findings and recommendations to guide RHN's next steps, and a SWOT analysis of RHN (the table on the last page of the report). SWOT is an acronym which stands for Strengths - Weaknesses - Opportunities - Threats.

June 2006 - Nuzhat Abbas facilitated RHN's first annual Anti-Racism workshop. See attached files for some of the handouts.
