It is a call for action to Toronto City Hall to continue investing in our communities.The purpose of this event is to inform Torontonians including their City Councillors about the importance of LGBTQ programs and services. A variety of organizations provide programs and services, including Pride Toronto, the LGBT YouthLine, The 519 Church St. Community Centre, Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, various HIV/AIDS organizations, and many more.Why fund LGBTQ programs and services?1. Building healthy communities2. Creating jobs and economic benefit3. Saving lives.This event will feature personal stories of people who have benefited from city-funded LGBTQ programs and services. People who have found a community; people whose financial livelihoods depend on these services, and people whose lives have been saved.The event is in the Rotunda of City Hall on the main floor - making it easy for City Councillors and staff to come and learn about the diversity of the LGBTQ communities. The event will feature musical entertainment, a showcase of LGBTQ and HIV/AIDS community organizations, speakers and more.
