RHN organizes educational events, develops and presents workshops, and conducts advocacy on issues such as trans human rights.RHN has no core funding or staff. We depend on volunteers like you! Bring your expertise, knowledge and skills to RHN, and enlarge your own experience. In addition, RHN volunteers take part in ongoing work as needed.• STEERING COMMITTEE The Steering Committee is the main planning and decision-making body of RHN. Steering Committee members meet monthly to organize and carry out activities, and some of them chair the other committees. Areas of focus include: community partnerships, event planning, fundraising, communications, website, project management, and political advocacy. The Steering Committee consists of eleven positions: Two Co- chairs, Secretary, Treasurer; one Coordinator each for Networking, Education, Advocacy, and Equity; Technology Coordinator; and two Members at-large. The term of office is two years.• FUNDRAISING, WEBSITE and SOCIAL MEDIA RHN is working to develop a fundraising strategy to ensure sustainability for the next decade. Volunteers with interest and skills in this area are needed. We are also seeking volunteers with technical skills to maintain and renew our website and our social media presence.* LGBTQ is used here to stand for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Intersex, Two-Spirit, Trans, Transsexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning and other sexual orientations and gender identities, recognizing complexities of intersecting identities such as race, class, age, ability, gender and citizenship.
